Renown flautist Julien Beaudiment brilliantly represents the French flute school. Born in 1978, he crossed the Channel when he was 18 years old, to study at the Guidhall School of Music in London with Paul Edmund-Davies and Averill Williams. He stayed there two years, before finishing his studies at the "Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris" with Sophie Cherrier, assisted by Vincent Lucas and Michel Moragués for Chamber Music. He successfully obtained the flute and chamber music awards. His studies enabled him to rub shoulders with other great professors, such as Vicens Prats, Maxence Larrieu, Jacques Zoon, Benoît Fromanger, Ramson Wilson, Joshua Smith.

While he was at 22 still as student at the Conservatoire, he was appointed principal flute at the "Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Lyon", today conducted by Kazushi Ono. Very quickly his concert career led him to perform on great stages and renown festivals such as: "Théâtre du Châtelet" in Paris, "Kumho Art Hall" in Seoul for the "World famous flutists serie", the "Essen Philharmonie", the "Palau de la Musica" in Barcelona, the "Opéra National de Lyon", the "Palais des Beaux Arts" in Brussels, "Tokyo Bunka Kaikan", "Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts", "Seoul Art Centre", "Rheingau Festival", "festival de Musique et de Danse de Montpellier", "Varna International Festival" in Bulgaria, "Mostly Mozart festival" in London, with the Orchestre de l'Opera de Lyon, the Stuttgart Kammerorchester, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the Cannes Symphony Orchestra, the Seoul Art center orchestra……He also performed within celebrated orchestras: the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Beijing Opera Orchestra, l'Orchestre de Paris, l'Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Paris, the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux, as well as in the greatest halls in the world, such as the Walt Disney Hall, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, London Royal Festival Hall, Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Munich Philharmonie,Frankfurt Alte Oper, Vienna Konzerthaus, Madrid Auditorium, Athens Megaton, Prague Rudolfimum, salle Pleyel, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Cité de la Musique in Paris, Tonhalle in Zurich, Tokyo Opera City Hall, Tokyo Bunkamura, Pekin Opera, Shanghai Grand theatre...under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel, Christoph schenbach, Sir Colin Davis, Michael Tilson Thomas, Ivan Fischer, Sir Roger Norrington, Yuri Temirkanov, Emmanuel Krivine, William Christie, Evelino Pido, Louis Langrée, Thomas Hengelbrocht, Philippe Jordan, Vladimir Jurovski...

 
     
     
 

From 2005 to 2006 he was appointed principal flute of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales under Thierry Fischer and he temporarily took leave from his Orchestra in Lyon, which he rejoined the following year. He is currently the only French flautist to have held this position in a great British Orchestra.

A chamber music enthusiast, he is a Laureate of the Barcelona international sonata competition. He performed beside artists like Lawrence Foster, Enrico Onofri from the "Giardino Armonico", Stefano Montanari, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Philippe Bernold, Lluis claret, Sarah Nemtanu, Hervé Nkaoua, Denis Pascal, Ishiro Nodaira, Jean Francois Zygel, Oliver Triendl, the jazzman Antoine Hervé, the members of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” and the "Berliner Philharmoniker", Ariane Jacob, the "quatuor Psophos", the "quatuor Diotima", Rachel Brown, Michel Moragues, Elizabeth Vidal, Christine Icart...

He is also a member of the “Faust wind quintet", made up of talented representatives of the new generation of French woodwind players (Nicolas Baldeyrou, Nora Cismondi, Julien Hardy and Benoit de Barsony) and accompanied the famous dancer/choreographer Regine Chopinot and Benjamin Millepied, performing the Bach's Partita the world over. He is regularly invited to play with the worldwide renown "Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields" in London with whom he plays in the most beautiful halls, besides Joshua Bell and Murray Perahia, to only name two.

His particularly rich musical career has nevertheless left him time to teach. He is assistant teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon" and artistic deputy at the "Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne", in Switzerland. He also teaches in many academies: "Vanderbilt Academy” in Aix en Provence, the "Nice International summer Academy", the "Bruges Academy" in Belgium, the "Academie Internationale des Arcs" and in many master classes in USA, Europe and Asia (China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan). His prestigious career has led him to closely collaborate with his instrument maker SANKYO, for several years now.
